Anne Abraham

Anne is Associate Head of School (Engaged Research) in the School of Accounting at the University of Western Sydney (UWS). She holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance, and has over thirty years experience as an educator. Anne is also the Chair of the UWS Human Research Ethics Committee, and a member of the Sustainability and Social Research Group at the College of Business and Law.

Anne’s outstanding contribution to teaching and learning has been recognised by five different teaching awards at international, national and university levels, and ongoing consultancies with educational publishers. She is currently a member of a cross-institutional team undertaking an external peer review of learning and teaching academic standards for accounting across 10 universities.

Internationally, Anne has a highly respected research profile, and she is the author of over eighty publications. Her major research interests are in the areas of accounting education, non-profit financial management and accountability, and social and environmental sustainability. She has supervised PhD, Honours and Masters students with projects in these areas.

Anne also has substantial influence in professional and community engagement which is demonstrated by the various leadership roles she has undertaken.
